Park Board

The DeKalb Park District is comprised of five elected Commissioners elected by DeKalb Park District residents to serve six year terms. The Board of Commissioners is the governing agency of the Park District and is responsible for setting the general policies for the operation of the District. In accordance with State statue, Park Commissioners are not compensated for their work.

All regular meetings typically start with a Study Session that begins at 6pm and the regular meeting which begins at 7pm. Board meetings are held in the Hopkins Park Community Center Administrative Office (2nd floor), 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb, IL. Notification of schedule changes will be made and posted. Agendas are published and posted on this website prior to Board Meetings. Once approved by the Park Board, Minutes will be published and available on this website.

This schedule is subject to such changes as the Board of Commissioners of the DeKalb Park District shall determine and law shall allow. Notice of such changes shall be given as required by law. All such meetings shall be open to the public, except those meetings, or portions of meetings which the Board of Commissioners of the DeKalb Park District shall determine to be held in private and which the law shall allow to be held in private.
