Family Evening at the Garden
Visit NIU's Communiversity Garden located east of Anderson Hall off Kishwaukee Drive. This free drop-in event includes a tour of the garden, activities to learn about fall harvest, and sample some fresh garden eats.

Learn to Paddle Clinics
Learn to canoe, kayak, or standup paddle on NIU's East Lagoon. $5 per person/per activity, please select your choice of lesson, you may select more than one. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet on the north side of NIU's East Lagoon along College Ave.
Clean the Kish
Celebrate National Public Lands Day by joining us for this free event to remove trash out of our community treasure, the Kishwaukee River. Meet on the north side of NIU's East Lagoon along College Ave.
Paddle the Kish
Paddle a 4-mile section of the Kishwaukee River, water levels will dictate the type of watercraft options available including standup paddleboarding, kayaking and/or canoeing. Meet at NIU's Adventure Center located on the west side of the Student Recreation Center 325 N. Annie Glidden Road. Transportation will be provided to and from the river.
Full Moon Hike
Guided by the moonlight, explore the nighttime woods and learn about nocturnal critters and enjoy other fun activities during this free event.
