Music at the Mansion - Entertainment with the Stars Goes Country

DeKalb, IL- The second of the 2021 concert series at the beautiful Ellwood House Museum 'Music at the Mansion-Entertainment with the Stars' in DeKalb will take place Wednesday, June 30. This concert show will feature the ”Back Country Roads" band.
 
Back Country Roads is a 6-piece Top 40 Country cover band from the northern Illinois area. The very successful band consists of two lead singers (male/female) two guitars, a Bass guitar, and drums. There are 4 band members that sing making our harmonies a huge part of the show. This extremely talented band averages 100 shows per year, and has opened for several National Country acts such as Phil Vassar, Parmalee, Grainger Smith, Love & Theft to name a few. The main show act starts at 7:00 PM.
 
The opening act will be Misspent Youth, a 3-piece, a hard-driving bluegrass band based in DeKalb, IL.  The Band features Dave "DK" Kolars (guitar), a long a fixture in the music scene in DeKalb. Kolars is one of the founders of the Northern Illinois Bluegrass Association, and a former member of several touring bands. Another member of the band is Dale Ludewig (banjo). Dale is also one of the primo mandolin builders in the business, building quality instruments for many performing artists. The third member of the band is Mike Warfel (bass), a bass player for all occasions, playing both electric and upright bass. Warfel has played in many bands in the Chicagoland area. The opening act starts at 6:30 PM. 

There will be refreshments available to purchase. A nice selection of beers and wines to purchase hosted by Fatty’s Pub and Grille in DeKalb. New this year will be an opportunity to purchase food from Big D's Hotdogs.

These concerts are free and are family-friendly. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy these great bands.  Limited parking is available at the Ellwood House Museum (420 Linden Place). The main parking lot is located at the First Congregational United Church of Christ (615 N 1st ST). Also Huntley School parking lot (a short distance away).

The June 30th concert will honor the DeKalb Safe Passage program. Safe Passage is the domestic violence and sexual assault crisis center serving DeKalb County. Safe Passage believes an important element of their commitment is for the safety of domestic violence victims and their children.
