ADVERTISEMENT FOR PUBLIC BID NOTICE

Project #1910A: Ellwood House Chair Lift Replacement Project, 509 N. First Street, DeKalb, IL 60115

Owner: DeKalb Park District,1403 Sycamore Rd, DeKalb, IL 60115

Sealed bids will be received, and contract awarded for replacement of an exterior vertical wheelchair lift on the historic Ellwood House in DeKalb, IL. The Ellwood House is a historic house and museum and is listed on the National Historic Register.

Bids will be received up until 2:00 PM local time, Thursday, September 10, 2020. Owner will receive Bids at the office of Mr. Mat Emken, Superintendent of Parks, DeKalb Park District, 1403 Sycamore Rd., DeKalb, IL 60115. Bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud in the Terrace Room at the same address. Bids not received by the indicated time will not be opened.

Electronic copies of Bidding Documents will be available Thursday, August 27, 2020, through the office of the Owner. Bidders are encouraged to visit the project site before submitting a bid. Site Examination shall be scheduled by appointment through the office of the Owner;

Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, parts of any and all proposals, or to waive technical errors or omissions in submitted proposals. The Owner further reserves the right in its discretion to award the project to the most responsible bidder whose offer best responds in quality, fitness and capacity to the requirements of the proposed work or usage and the best interest of the Owners and the historic structure. No submitted bid may be withdrawn until a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without written consent of the Owners.

To the extent that it applies, successful Bidder, Contractors and Subcontractors must comply with the requirements of 820 ILCS 130/1-12 inclusive with reference to prevailing rates of wages.

Work will include clay tile replacement and stone tread replacement to match existing. The Ellwood House is a historic house and museum and is listed on the National Historic Register.
