(1) Notice is hereby given that the DeKalb Park District intends to contract for the following items and services titled "Portable Toilet Contract for DeKalb Park District"; and those specifications are on file and are presently available electronically by emailing a request to Mat Emken, Superintendent of Parks and Development at memken@dekalbparkdistrict.com. Telephone: (779)777-7276. Proposals for said contract are invited and will be accepted until 3:30pm on November 5, 2021. Proposed contract to be in effect from February 1, 2022, through January 31, 2023 with the option to renew for 2 additional years. The DeKalb Park District reserves the unrestricted right to reject any or all proposals received, to waive or not to waive any informality, or to accept the proposal considered to be in the best interest of the Park District. Project will generally consist of providing portable toilets for District parks, athletic fields, and special events. Proposal will be approved, provided all necessary requirements have been met, at the regularly scheduled DeKalb Park District Board of Commissioners Meeting on November 18, 2021.


(2) Notice is hereby given that the DeKalb Park District intends to contract for the following items and services titled "DeKalb Nature Trail Restoration and Maintenance Phase 3"; and that specifications are on file and are presently available electronically by emailing a request to Mat Emken, Superintendent of Parks and Development at memken@dekalbparkdistrict.com. Telephone: (779)777-7276. Bids for said contract are invited and will be opened at the Administrative Offices of the DeKalb Park District, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb, Illinois 60115. The DeKalb Park District reserves the unrestricted right to reject any or all bids received, to waive or not to waive any informality, or to accept the bid considered to be in the best interest of the Park District. Project will consist of: (1) site preparations including mowing, herbicide applications, and invasive species removal; (2) installation of seed and other vegetative materials; (3) a three-year maintenance contract for the project site. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday October 27, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Hopkins Community Center, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb, IL 60115. A site visit will immediately follow. Bid opening: Monday November 8, 2021 at 1:00pm, DeKalb Park District Administrative Office, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb, Illinois 60115. Bid will be awarded, provided all necessary requirements have been met, at the regularly scheduled DeKalb Park District Board of Commissioners Meeting on November 18, 2021.


(3) 1. Time and Place for Opening Bids: Sealed proposals for the Ellwood House Museum Grounds Grant Project, for DeKalb Park District, DeKalb, IL, will be received at the Park District offices located at 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb, Illinois, 60115 until 10:00 A.M. CST, Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at which time the bids will be opened. Late bids will not be accepted. 2. Description of Work: The work required includes all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to perform the removal / installation of new drainage inlets/structures/piping; replanting of the existing raingarden with new native plants; construction of a new raingarden with necessary grading, soil mix and native plants; remove and replacement of concrete sidewalk; gravel removal, regrading, reshaping and installation of asphalt pavement and new concrete for path; installation of new LED lighting and related electrical work; installation of new interpretive signage; landscape plantings, site restoration and related work in accordance with the construction plans. 3. Document Availability: Digital copies of the plans and bid documents in PDF format are available upon request via email at memken@dekalbparkdistrict.com. 4. Other Bidding Information: a.) Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Department of Labor or determined by the court upon review shall be paid to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract (820 ILCS 130/0.01). b.) 50 percent of the labor hours for this project must be performed by actual residents of the State of Illinois (20 ILCS 805/805-350). c.) The DeKalb Park District is exempt from Illinois state, municipal, or county Retailers Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. d.) All bids must be accompanied by a Bidder's bond, certified check, bank cashier's check, or bank draft payable to the DeKalb Park District for five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid as provided in the Bidder instructions. 5. Rejection of Bids: The DeKalb Park District reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities. Unless the Bids are rejected for good cause, award of the contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder after final approval of the Park District Board
