We are excited to share that Hopkins Pool will be fully open for the 2021 summer season (with COVID-19 capacity restrictions, safety guideline regulations, and reservations required)! Season Passes will not be available for the 2021 season, but Daily Admission entry for the Kiddie Pool Area and General Swim Area (includes slides and diving well) with 90-minute reservation time slots. All visitors will be required to make a reservation. No walk-ins.

The facility will be disinfected between group reservation slots. Lap Swim will be available during all "General Swim" time slots, however, there are time slots exclusive for Lap Swim. Open Swim is not permitted during Lap Swim hours and will need to reserve a General Swim time slot.

Reservations Only: You may reserve 90-minute time slots. You may book multiple time slots on a first come, first serve basis, however you must "check-out" and "check-in" between each interval so staff may clean in-between reservations. No walk-ins. Please read our Pool Rules tab for more details and important safety regulations. Please note, if you are booking your reservation via a mobile device, switch to "desktop mode" to finalize the transaction.

Resident Rate Qualifications: You must live in the DeKalb Park District and provide a valid Illinois Drivers License or Illinois Resident ID Card showing your permanent full-time address. You may also show a utility bill or lease in your name at an address in the DeKalb Park District with a picture ID to receive the resident rate.

Refunds: If you previously purchased a 2020 Season Pass and you have not yet received a refund, please contact Superintendent of Recreation, Greg Bruggeman at gbruggeman@dekalbparkdistrict.com.

Scholarship Assistance

Scholarship discounts are not available for Daily Admission Fees.

Important Pool Rules & Info to Know

Please note that due to COVID-19 safety regulations, Hopkins Pool is open by reservation only.

Phase 4 Swimming Guidelines:

  • Adults with children up to age 7 are permitted in the Kiddie Pool area. Children 8+ years or older who do reserve time at the Kiddie Pool will be asked to leave without a refund.
  • Only 25 participants will be allowed in the Kiddie Pool or General Swim Area at one time.
  • Users must enter and check-in through the Main Entrance of Hopkins Park Community Center. Locker rooms will be open for use.
  • Users must wear a face mask at Hopkins Pool unless they are in the water. Please wear your mask on deck until you enter the water. Physically distance yourself 6 feet from other pool users.
  • Participants are strongly encouraged to come ready to swim and shower at home to limit exposure, however locker rooms will be open and available.
  • You are encouraged bring your own chairs. Deck lounge chairs will be unavailable.
  • All persons must pay ahead of time. Each reservation includes 90 minutes of swim time.
  • After every 90 minutes, you must "check out" to allow staff 30 minutes to disinfect the facility between reserved swim times.
  • If you have reserved multiple time blocks, you still must "check-out" and "check-in" after each 90 minute interval.
  • You may only book your reservation 14 days ahead of time.

General Pool Rules

Floatation Devices: ONLY Type II & III US Coast Guard approved floatation devices are permitted in the main swimming pool. Children using permitted floatation devices must be constantly supervised and within arms reach. No floatation suits, tubes, or water wings are allowed in the main pool. Life-vests are available to check out at the front desk.

Water Slide Height Requirement: All patrons riding the slides must be at least 42'' tall.

Pool Closings: Our staff makes every effort to maintain our regular pool hours. Due to cooler weather, severe weather conditions, or lack of patrons, the pool or pool areas may close temporarily or for the day based on management judgment.

NOTE: Please be aware of weather conditions. Rain checks for daily admissions will only be issued to patrons who have been in the facility less than two hours and have a receipt.

The pool will close if:

  • there are less than ten(10) swimmers
  • the temperature is below 65 degrees
  • lightning or severe weather is in the area

Private Rentals

If you'd like to have the entire pool to yourself, or you're just looking for some uninterrupted waterslide time, we've got you covered! You can celebrate a birthday, entertain clients, say thank-you to employees, or host a stress-free family reunion by renting Hopkins Pool after hours any day of the week. Hopkins Pool is available to rent on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00-8:00 pm, starting on June 4 and ending on August 7.

* All rentals and parties must be booked a minimum of 10 days prior to the event.
* Private rentals are only available before or after public swim and programming times.

Swim Lessons and Swim Programs

Swim lessons are NOT being offered at Hopkins Pool this summer, but they are being offered indoors at Huntley Middle School swimming pool during the summer season. Please refer to the aquatics page for all swim lessons and swim program information.
